You enjoy making a good video, getting the details right and seeing it go out into the world. You can move between an edit, a content calendar and a client request without losing track of what needs to happen. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in both the work and the way it gets delivered.
- Freelance · Remote
- Around 15 hours a week to start
- $50–60 CAD an hour
- For someone with experience editing and publishing for brand accounts.
What you’ll own from the start
- The edits. Make short-form videos yourself, write clear briefs and help shape other editors’ work. Editing will be a substantial part of the role.
- The working plan. Turn the agreed direction into a content calendar. Keep briefs, feedback, approvals and deadlines moving, with everyone clear on what happens next.
- The publishing. Prepare and post the content. Check captions, covers, copy, tags and formatting, then check the live post too.
- The follow-through. Respond promptly to client requests during agreed working hours. If something needs correcting, flag it, sort it out and confirm it’s done.
Your judgment matters
You’ll contribute ideas, give creative feedback and help us understand what’s working. Johnny and Nina will lead strategy initially; you’ll take responsibility for turning that direction into well-made, well-managed content.
As you learn the accounts and build trust, there’s room to take on more creative direction and account ownership.
What makes you a good fit
You’ve edited and published for a brand account, and can show us your part in the work. You understand the trade-offs between CapCut and Edits, know what makes a strong short-form video, and enjoy making one yourself.
You leave clear files and useful notes. You spot a missing caption or the wrong cover, keep track of the latest approval, and speak up early when a deadline is at risk. Those habits give the whole team more room to do good creative work.

Who you’ll work with
Juniper Island is a small creative team led by Johnny and Nina. Our work spans culture, food, wellness and expert-led businesses, including Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Rily. You’ll help people with something worth saying find an audience for it.

We’re also hiring a short-form video editor, for someone earlier in their career.
